Tribute to Boy Loday

The little boy with the black pup
Reminded many
Of maternal agony
And perhaps,
Of some parental lapse.

I clutched my young son
For, the boy was almost my own
Goose hairs prickled me
My heart prayed
and drowned.

Facebook and Twitter
Erupted through the night
Bhutanese for once
Prayed as one
‘May god protect you right!’

A mom lost her sleep
As she shared her fear
Looking for her lost boy
She cried in vain
Hearts were swollen with tear!

Fate led the boy astray
Destiny had its way
Neither collective anger
Nor combined sorrow
Could, alas!  Save the young boy!

Even as the family is devastated
Unable to face the morrow
In the company of thousands online
I weep in their sorrow!

  2. Parental lapse? This is too harsh a word for the parents who are grieving the loss of their child.

    1. I said, 'some parental lapse'. The objective of my writing, anyway, is not to persecute or blame the parents. It is but to share their sorrows. I respect your view about my choice of some words. I hope you will continue visiting my blog.
